We’ll start the journey together with the DBB coffee ride which usually brings together dozens of participants. The breakfast at the start, with nice pastries and specialty coffee, is on us.
Our first stop is the town of Sremska Mitrovica. If you arrive to Belgrade later than Saturday morning — no worries, you’ll be able to catch us by train which takes about an hour.
The photos that you see are from our last year’s bikepacking trip to the same locations, with the hotels we actually stayed in — with a couple of exceptions where we’ll improve this time.
Our first stop is the town of Sremska Mitrovica. If you arrive to Belgrade later than Saturday morning — no worries, you’ll be able to catch us by train which takes about an hour.

The support car will carry the bags between the hotels. And we’ll just ride. You can leave your cycling box in Belgrade.

In fact, the DBB guides scouted this route even before the first organised tour — in December 2023 (hence the Christmas tree on the photo). So, our third trip is going to be as refined as it practically gets.
For example, we have changed the hotel in Tuzla to be closer to the city center and with more comfort. This town is in Bosnia & Herzegovina, so we cross the border on our second day.

Day 3, Monday, 28 April

Next we arrive to Kladanj, and then do a 10-kilometer uphill to reach our hotel in Pauč. This is the first day with significant elevation gain. Again, the support car is there for us and there’s no rush.
We’ll ride 83 km per day with 740 m elevation gain on average. If any of the climbs is too hard, the support car will come to aid.

The midpoint of our journey, Sarajevo, is a place to visit at least once in a life. The difficulty of the route increases again, but we can take our time — next day we’ll have plenty to explore the Bosnian capital.

Sarajevo has the reach history and a wealth of places to visit. That said, our hotel has joint spaces, both inside and the private terrace, where we can spend time together resting and socialising.
The rest day in Sarajevo allows to recover — or to explore the city by day and night. The city is vibrant and distinctive.

The hardest day of the tour ends between Han Pijesak and Vlasenica — which are both small villages in the middle of Bosnia — so eat-and-sleep is the plan for the evening. Unless you prefer enjoying nature.

We’re getting back to Serbia and stop by in a border town of Ljubovija, where our hotel has the pools and other amenities to continue the recovery after the mountains. Even though this day’s route is easy anyway.
There are plenty of direct flights to Belgrade from the EU and other countries. Most of foreigners do not need visa to visit Serbia or Bosnia.
Day 8, Saturday, 3 May

After another non-demanding ride we arrive to Valjevo — our preferred outpost in the mountainous region of Serbia. In case you need to catch a plane on Sunday, there’s a 1.5-hour train to Belgrade.

We’re not just getting back to Belgrade — but meet and ride together with the cyclists who start their Sunday ride from Valjevo this day. At the finish we’ll all together seat in our favourite beer garden. We’re buying!

Get in touch with us via the form below. When the number of the interested will reach the amount of slots, we’ll suggest that everyone makes a prepayment to secure their slot. The full payment is due one month before the tour date.
Some of our tours & camps have discounts that are announced and applied in any qualifying case — whether you mention it or not when booking. This particular event does not currently have any discounts announced.
There’re joint expenses, consisting mainly of food and beverages, that are added together and then smartly split between the tour participants — everything is calculated automatically by an app, so there is no hassle.
Breakfasts are included, and lunches & dinners are usually at cafes and restaurants, amid the ride and in the place where we finish that day, respectively. Mid-ride snacks can be stored in the support car.
We suggest a road bike or a gravel bike with not-too-slow tyres (you could ask in the tour chat). There are no gravel sections so a rim-brake road bike is totally acceptable to enjoy this tour in full.
There is no good road or gravel bike rent in Belgrade, but we could try and source a fitting bicycle for you if you cannot bring your own — DBB is a community of hundreds of cyclists, many of whom have more than one bike.
Women always stay in spaces physically separated from men in our tours — except for those coming as pairs, of course. Depending on the demand, we will try and offer you a discount in an attempt to support female cycling.
If you’ve ever ridden 100+ kilometers a day, you should be fine. If one gets too tired, there is always an option to skip a riding day in a passenger seat of the support car. The group travels at a pace comfortable for its every member.
The first and last days of the tour can be skipped by train — of course the support car will help with the luggage from/to the train station near to the tour location. Any other day can be skipped in a passenger seat of the car.
May is not the hottest month in Serbia/Bosnia, so riding is comfortable. When we’re up in the mountains, you may even want to wear something warmer than a summer jersey. The pools must be refreshingly cool after the ride.
At the tour we’ll have the usual bike maintenance tools and products. However, you should have what fits you and your bike individually. In the tour chat there will sure be exhaustive information on all that.
There is an international airport in Belgrade. The information on airport transfers is provided in the tour chat. Again, you can arrive on the first day or depart on the last — it is possible to use train to fast forward the ride.
That’s a frequent question, and we’re ready to advise in the tour chat in detail. You can be sure that bringing a bike with you is not that difficult and doesn’t require significant additional expenses — the rest are details.

RULE #1 // Use a Proper bike.
Well, use whatever bike & gear, but if one crashes while riding an improper bike or without a properly fitting helmet, we will presume his or her sole responsibility — for both potential injuries and material damage — even if the crash was accidentally caused by another group member. There is a reason.
RULE #2 // Proper are Road & Gravel bikes.
Improper bikes for riding in a group are:
• time-trial or triathlon bikes, or bikes with attached aerobars,
• flat-bar or other bikes with wide handlebars,
• fixed-gear bikes without at least a front brake,
• bikes with potential or actual significant malfunctions.
RULE #3 // All your pictures are belong to us.
People make photos & videos during our events and we will use them in any way your imaginary lawyer could imagine — but mostly in our Instagram — for which you grant us your irrevocable consent if you happen to be there. Club members have the right of access to all said images.
RULE #4 // You accept the Disclaimer.
All the rides are organised by Baranchikov & Partners Ltd, a legal entity that you can sue if anything makes you unhappy. Alexander Baranchikov, the sole proprietor of said entity, will do his best to make you happy, but accepts no personal legal responsibility for that.
