ACCOMMODATION
The tour price covers all stays, up to 21 nights in various hotels. Where possible, we prefer nice 5-star venues or stylish boutique places (all photos are of our actual stays):
Vietnam has a rich history, and we won’t miss the chance to stay in the quarters of the Hue imperial city in the 1st part & in the French colonial villas of Dalat in the 2nd:
Occasionally, there is only one option in the area where we end the day, with local flavour. The simplest of the stays are 3 stars (and the average for the tour is 4.5 stars):
By default, we book a private room & bathroom for every participant. On some days, that’s not possible — be ready to rarely share a room with a same-gender cyclist.
TRANSPORT & LOGISTICS
A car with a dedicated driver will carry all our stuff, including bike cases/boxes, along the way. No need for bags on the bikes.
We suggest limiting your daily carry to one backpack, or two max — so you could be bringing all what you need from the car to a room, & back, while also taking your bike.
If you need help with what to pack — and not only that — we’ll advise in the tour chat. Also, please take a look at the frequent questions closer to the end of this page.

ADDITIONAL EXPENSES
Apart from the cost of the tour, you will need flight tickets and transfers between airports and start/end hotels (all in city centre).
The food is not included in the price — apart from breakfasts in some hotels — we eat out, order delivery, or just do fast cooking.
RIDING STYLE
The routes are expected to be ridden on a road bike or a gravel bike with fast tyres. You should be comfortable riding in a group.
Average daily distance is 110 km with not much elevation. The target avg speed is 25 km/h. We make one long stop for lunch and a few short ones — there’s no need to rush.
If you have never ridden such distances back-to-back, and hesitate — consider that the support car is there to aid in a pinch.
GUIDES
Anton, professional bike fitter & amateur racer, used to live and cycle in Vietnam.
Alex, founder of DBB & tour organiser, has travelled across the whole of Vietnam.
Get in touch with us via the form below. We’ll suggest that you make a non-refundable prepayment of 500 € to secure your slot. The full payment is due one month before the tour date (no later than 21 Oct 2025).
Some of our tours & camps have discounts that are announced and applied in any qualifying case — whether you mention it or not when booking. This particular event does not currently have any discounts announced.
There’re joint expenses, consisting mainly of food and beverages, that are added together and then smartly split between the tour participants — everything is calculated automatically by an app, so there is no hassle.
Breakfasts are either served by a hotel or we go out somewhere close to it in the city. Lunches & dinners are usually at cafes and restaurants, amid the ride and in the place where we finish that day, respectively.
We suggest a road bike or a gravel bike with fast-rolling tyres (we’ll advise in the tour chat). It is not possible to take part on a flat-bar bike such as MTB — those are intended neither for group riding, nor for covering such distances.
While we have a bike rent at DBB, it wouldn‘t be viable bringing the rentals all the way from Belgrade to Vietnam. That said, we have connections in the cycling circles there and could try and arrange something if you really need it.
Women always stay in spaces physically separated from men in our tours — except for those coming as pairs, of course. Depending on the demand, we will try and offer you a discount in an attempt to support female cycling.
If you’re comfortable riding 100 kilometers a day, you should be fine. The group travels at a pace suitable for its every member. We know how to do that based on our experience of pacing weekly ~100 km rides of 30–60 various people.
Apart from the mentioned rest days, the format of the tour does not allow for freely skipping any riding days. If need be, you could skip a segment or two in the support car — but that’s not something you should plan on.
November and early December are the best months in Vietnam. It’s expected to be warm and non-rainy. Considering that almost all the tour is at sea level, most likely you will not need any warm clothes (but bring some anyway).
At the tour we’ll have the usual bike maintenance tools and products. However, you should have what fits you and your bike individually. In the tour chat there will sure be exhaustive information on all that.
There are large international airports in Hanoi, Da Nang, Nha Trang, and Ho Chi Minh. The information on airport transfers will be discussed in the tour chat. We’ll try to help, but please assume that you need to arrange that individually.
That’s a frequent question, and we’re ready to advise in the tour chat in detail. You can be sure that bringing a bike with you is not that difficult and doesn’t require significant additional expenses — the rest are details.

RULE #1 // Use a Proper bike. Well, use whatever bike & gear, but if one crashes while riding an improper bike or without a properly fitting helmet, we will presume his or her sole responsibility — for both potential injuries and material damage — even if the crash was accidentally caused by another group member. There is a reason.
RULE #2 // Proper are Road & Gravel bikes. Improper bikes for riding in a group are: • time-trial or triathlon bikes, or bikes with attached aerobars, • flat-bar or other bikes with wide handlebars, • fixed-gear bikes without at least a front brake, • bikes with potential or actual significant malfunctions.
RULE #3 // All your picture are belong to us. RULE #4 // You accept the Disclaimer. All the rides are organised by Baranchikov & Partners Ltd, a legal entity that you can sue if anything makes you unhappy. Alexander Baranchikov, the sole proprietor of said entity, will do his best to make you happy, but accepts no personal legal responsibility for that.
RULE #5 // Obey The Rules. If you come to our rides, you accept The Rules. And to enjoy any group ride you should also know the tips.
